Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche

Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche was born in 1951. As the oldest son of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, he was recognized by the 16th Karmapa as the seventh incarnation of Gar Drubchen, a renowned Drikung Kagyu master. Soon after, he was enthroned at his predecessor's monastery, Drong Gön Tubten Dargye Ling Monastery, in Central Tibet.

At the age of 13, he entered Rumtek Monastery and spent the next eleven years studying the Karma Kagyu, Drikung Kagyu and Nyingma traditions under the guidance of Karmapa Rangjung Dorje, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kyabje Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, and other eminent masters. Before leaving Rumtek, Rinpoche successfully completed the coursework set out for tulkus.

In 1974, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche was installed by Tulku Urgyen as the abbot of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery, in Kathmandu and, since that time, he has continuously offered teachings and meditation guidance to both monastic and lay communities, in Kathmandu and around the world. Some of Rinpoche's many published books are Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, Bardo Guidebook, Indisputable Truth and Medicine and Compassion.


Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche

Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche was born in 1953 as the second son of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche. He was recognized at an early age by the 16th Karmapa as the 4th reincarnation of the influential Treasure revealer Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa.

Chokling Rinpoche completed his Buddhist education at Rumtek Monastery in India under the guidance of numerous masters, headed by the Karmapa himself. After arriving in Nepal, he now holds the position of Vajra Master at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling, one of the largest monasteries in Nepal, where he presides over the Vajrayana rituals performed at the monastery.

He is a lay practitioner with a wife and four children. His oldest son is Phakchok Rinpoche, who also teaches at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute, while his youngest son is the reincarnation of the great master Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.


Phakchok Rinpoche

Phakchok Rinpoche is the oldest son of Chokling Rinpoche. Born in 1981, he was recognized as a Tulku by the Kagyü regents and later ordained by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He has studied with a number of great lamas, including Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Dudjom Rinpoche, Tulku Ugyen Rinpoche, Penor Rinpoche, Trulshik Rinpoche and Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche. In 2004 Rinpoche completed his studies and received the Khenpo degree from the Dzongsar Shedra in India. An enthusiastic and vibrant young lama and his teachings are direct, accessible, and fresh. Phakchok Rinpoche has been teaching at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute for several years giving lectures on Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice.


Khenpo Sherab Dorje

Khenpo Sherab Dorje was born in Kyirong, Central Tibet. In 1985 he received monastic ordination from Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. In 1989 he joined the Nyingma Institute at Namdroling Monastery in South India. There he studied for eleven years, earning the degree of Khenpo. In 2003 he returned to Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery where he presently teaches in both the monk's Shedra and the Rangjung Yeshe Institute.




Khenpo Jampa Donden

Khenpo Jampa Donden comes from southern Tibet.He was ordained as a monk at the age of 14 at Gongar Chode Monastery of the Sakya lineage. At 18 he went to India and studied at H.E.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche's Shedra at Bir, India, for 10 years. After graduation, he taught at Dzongsar Khyentse Shedra prior to coming to Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in 2000.





Khenpo Jampa Lodro

Khenpo Jampa Lodro is is from the Kang-dong Monastery (formally known as Do-ngak Ch-khor Ling) of the Northern Treasure (Dorje Dak) Tradition. He is from Serta in Golok of Tibet and is a student of the late Khenpo Cho-kyab Rinpoche. After his teacher passed away, he came to Nepal in 1998. He is currently residing in the monastery and teaches both the monastic and international shedras.
